Shine the Light
This spring, Brigid’s House of Hope will raise awareness of and support for victims of human trafficking in New Hampshire with the first annual Shine the Light seminar on Monday, September 27, 2023 held from 1:30–3:30 p.m. at Saint Anselm College in Manchester, New Hampshire. This seminar brings together concerned and engaged community members for an educational presentation, conversation and networking, and offers continuing education units for eligible attendees.
We are excited to have Dr. Loretta Brady, professor of psychology at Saint Anselm College, as our keynote speaker. In addition to research on risk and resilience, Dr. Brady has developed a specialty in technology, employee training, diversity and organizational psychology. During the seminar, Dr. Brady will present strategies for care professionals to maintain their passion and thrive. Trafficking is complex trauma that is often missed because we as professionals and community members are often focused on specific lanes or diagnoses, or we have an inability to see beyond the initial diagnosis due to burnout or not fully caring for ourselves. Professionals and community members will learn strategies for self-care while being able to access their knowledge and focus to see all pieces and parts of trauma that affect victims of trafficking or cause a person to be at higher risk of trafficking.
